Day 1--Island Park, Idaho

Well, the first day we ended up much further than we thought we would We drove for 14 hours, though it didn't feel that long while we were driving because we enjoyed the scenery. By chance, we found a great deal at this beautiful lodge in Island Park, ID, about 40 minutes from the west entrance to Yellowstone. We had to go down a few gravel roads to get to it, but it was gorgeous!
We at dinner at the lodge with our bison friend. Every time we looked up, this is what we saw. His head was probably about three times the size of me.
Us at dinner. I had DELICIOUS clam chowder. . . mmmmm!
The lodge was right on a gorgeous lake, and this was the view out the window in our room. We were almost wishing we were staying there longer!
