The next day, we left Boston and headed about two hours north to York, Maine. After checking into our Microtel (See Day 22: Camping. . . or not at 2girlsonaroadtrip.blogspot.com to see why I LOVE the Microtel!), we headed out to see our first Maine Lighthouse; the Cape Neddick "Nubble" Lightouse. It was foggy when we first got there, but after awhile it cleared up very nicely. Unfortunately, the lighthouse was out on a little island, so you would have to take a boat (which would be difficult with the rocky shores) or the little zip-line contraption that you can see to the left in the picture to get out there. We weren't allowed to do either, so we enjoyed the view from the mainland.
